A presidential election was held on Friday, June 26, 2015. Incumbent president PKBeam withdrew from the election hours before the votes were collected, due to an expenses scandal (of which he was later cleared). He resigned from the presidency on the last day of Term 2, 2015 and also already resigned from the People's Action Party three days prior to the election. Independent-turned-Libertarian Party candidate S2631 won the election in a landslide, gaining 57.1% of the popular vote.
