A general election was held on Saturday, 2 July 1859 to determine the members of the 4th National Parliament of the Kingdom of Craftia. The centrist Liberal Party government, led by Prime Minister Chen Shangsun was defeated by the opposition centre-right Kuomintang, led by Opposition Leader Tan Yan'an.
